Qigong with Animals
An excellent way for us to develop deep listening skills is to begin to notice our interactions with our pets and how they “read” our situations moods.
While dogs and cats are one step removed from wild animals they still have much of their wild nervous system intact. However, because much of their food and well being is derived from their relationship with us rather than their need to hunt themselves they have attuned their nervous system to interlacing with our lives rather than life in the forest or on the savannahs.
Dogs in particular are genetically programmed “wolf puppies” that “read” our facial expressions and emotions. For some reason they look at our right eye first when meeting a human, and from there continue on to read (and presumably) interpret our expression.
The dog trainer Cesar Milan has exceptional deep listening skills. He communicates using wild wisdom.
